Frequently asked questions

Are the long file boxes designed to be lifted?

No, they are not designed to be lifted. In order to use file boxes effectively, you place the first box on a furniture roller. You then fill this with everything that is on the shelf. You then fold the brackets or lids in and place the second box on top. Once the third box has been filled, you move the file boxes with the furniture roller to the new workplace or removal lorry.

Roll containers and furniture rollers were created in order to avoid lifting as much as possible. If you have to lift, however, make sure you tackle the job with another person.

Do you also take care of the relocation itself?

No, Roldo Rent only hires out moving equipment. You must consult a removal company in your region for your relocation needs (see moving links). Roldo Rent can however deliver the materials, under the supervisory eye of your removal company, to any location you like.

Does the equipment take up much space?

No, all of the materials can be stacked or nested. This means that the volume of all types of boxes and containers can be reduced. In an area measuring one square metre, for example, you can stack between 52 and 80 Handy Stackers, 14 computer boxes, 40 file boxes or 10 roll containers.

How far in advance do I need to reserve my materials?

Materials can usually be collected on the same day from the depots. If you need your items to be delivered, this can be arranged for the following day. In order to be sure that your materials are available for you, it may be wise to reserve them.

Is it best to engage a removal company? Surely we are the best people to carry out our office move?

Yes, it is wise to take on a removal company. Relocation is a very specialised task. Genuine removal companies train their staff in the use of modern removal equipment. They can work much faster than your own staff. They also know how furniture and boxes need to be packed, lifted and transported.

The disruption caused by the relocation will be shorter if you use a proper removal company and, as a result, your staff can continue to work for longer and then get back into the swing of things more rapidly. And have you considered the implications of back problems and other injuries? The removal company is also insured against damage during relocation.

What is the best way to relocate my files?

It is important to consider whether or not the files have to remain accessible during the move. If this is the case, you can transport the standard files in roll containers with shelves or security containers with shelves. During the relocation process, you will be able to access them at all times.

If the accessibility of the files is less important, you can move one metre of files in file boxes or 60 cm in Handy Crates or Clever Move Boxes.

Why should I use plastic Handy Stackers instead of cardboard boxes?
  • You can get to work straight away with Handy Stackers. You do not need to fold them and stick them together with tape.
  • Handy Stackers are much sturdier than cardboard boxes so your objects are better protected during storage. They are easy to stack and do not collapse into one another.
  • Handy Stackers are easier to lift than traditional moving boxes because they have ergonomic handles. The handles never tear off.
  • Handy Stackers are environmentally friendlier because plastic is recyclable and the boxes last longer.
  • Handy Stackers are resistant to moisture.
  • Handy Stackers are sealable, so that your confidential documents cannot be accessed.
Why would I hire boxes if I can get my hands on cardboard boxes?

Time and again, relocation leads to many boxes being left unpacked in the filing room or abandoned in offices spaces, waiting for the next move.

If you hire boxes, you can motivate your employees to only take what they really need. This means there's less to move. And after the relocation, you are motivated to unpack all the boxes so that files do not become lost.

Would I not be better off buying equipment instead of hiring it?

Hiring is very beneficial compared to buying:

  • You always have professional equipment;
  • You can choose from a huge range;
  • You have the right items for every possible situation;
  • You have access to the appropriate quantities;
  • You do not have to pay storage fees;
  • You do not have to pay maintenance costs;
  • You do not need to make any investments;
  • The equipment supplied by Roldo Rent serves as a ‘calling card’ for your company.
